NEW IN | NYX BASE MAKEUP

After having an initial NYX splurge when a stand opened in Boots Meadowhall, I’d managed to create another wish list of bits I needed to try. Thankfully, I didn’t go too mad this time, sticking to three base products. NYX is quickly becoming my go-to for good value makeup, plus the range is whopping. I always get way too enthusiastic picking things out!

HD Finishing Powder

This I’ve actually used the most so far. I’ve managed without a pressed powder for so long… It was definitely time to invest in something to tackle the T-zone! In the hope of avoiding anything cakey I went for this translucent option. Up to now, I’ve loved this powder. It’s really light, gets rid of any shiny bits and just seems to blur everything out nicely. I know there are a couple of other shades in this so I’m definitely going to check those out too!

HD Photogenic Concealer

Both concealer options I went for were based on the fact I loved the pinkish toned one in the Colour Correcting Palette. I’ve already hit pan on that one, so I wanted to find a similar shade in the NYX range that would last me a bit longer. This one is currently way lighter than my fake tanned face, but I wanted something to layer under foundation. I’ve mostly been using it to really cover up dull areas, as this seems to cancel them out. It’s not overly thick and doesn’t feel like it’s clogging up my pores, yet the pigment is opaque enough to actually make a difference. Up to now it’s a like.

Dark Circle Concealer

A similarly pinky/peach toned shade for taking on those under eye circles. Again, the colour works well on my sallow tones, evening my skin tone out ready for foundation. I’ve actually used this more around my mouth where I’ve got as much discolouration as under my eyes – it works just as good there.

Have any of you found your cult NYX products?! I’m constantly searching blogs for what I should add to my next wish list. Ick… Must stop buying makeup!
