BLACK BASICS WITH TRIANGL

Bikini Top - Triangl, Bikini Bottoms - eBay, Sunglasses - Ray Ban

What's a blogger's holiday without a Triangl bikini? Haha. Yup, I think every blogger and their grandma has one but they are rather nice. This is the second holiday I've taken one with me and I do like them for a bit of a 'special' kini. Y'know, the one to save for when you're really wanting to go all out with the beach outfit.

Like last year though I did swap the bottoms for a slightly comfier pair off eBay. They were about £3, that Brazillian sort of style that means minimal tanlines.. When in Greece right?! I do love the Triangl bikinis but for a full day sat in the sun I do find they're a wee but uncomfortable.

DETAILS: EVENINGS OUT

Bag - c/o Florian London, YSL Lipstick (the colour has rubbed off.. it's an oldie!), L'Oréal Nail Varnish (Beige Boheme), L'Oréal Super Liner

I always think it's nice when you're off out to have a few fancy accessories. I don't go 'out out' that often so when I do I like the full dressing up process. Bit of fake tan, a new lippy, shoes that make you feel a bit sassy, y'know? These days I'm also trying to get my nails done more often. For the amount of money I spend on nail varnish that chips off or a wonder treatment that doesn't actually work I might as well just go get them done all nice. I've had these on a couple of weeks now so they have grown out a bit.. I've just repainted them with the Beige Boheme to freshen them up too. I love a good nude nail.

With makeup I usually brave a bit of eyeliner when I'm going out. It's just too much for me to handle on a day to day basis.. How do people do it in a rush?! It takes me forever, along with plenty of masking tape, concealer & makeup remover. I just haven't got the knack, but the Super Liner is quite a nice one to say I'm crap at a cat flick. The brush isn't too fiddly for me to handle & I can just whip off the masking tape when I'm done to get a straight (ish) line.

Onto the bag. Ahhh it's so pretty. I haven't had a good going out bag for a while.. I'm usually that girl trying to stuff Mary Poppins clutter into a clutch. This one by Florian London is not only a little beauty but also has enough room for my excessive essentials to be carted along. Isn't it a lovely colour? Like a rosy-pink.. It looks so nice with rose gold! I'm going to save this for special occasions mainly. It's too nice for anything other than swish.

BEACH TROUSERS

Sunglasses - Ray Ban, Vest Top - Primark, Bag - New Look, Trousers - Forever 21

The holiday blog posts are here. I promise I won't drag it out too long - maybe a few evening outfits and favourite bikinis? I did take a lot of bikini pictures (when I'm old and wrinklier than a crumpled paper bag I do want a few pictures from the youth to show the grandkids), but when it came to evening outfits I was a bit of a flop - to be honest, I was so chilled out that it was easy to forget about taking pictures of everything. I think I needed that though!

I did take a few pictures when I was heading down to the beach - mostly these aren't the most stylish looks as I just throw on something comfy and cool. I wanted to show you these trousers though. Forever 21 makes my day you know. I've never ordered anything from them and disliked what I'd gone for. I always find it's really good value for the price. These trousers were around the £20 mark, are a really nice fit and I love the pattern. The only downside is that I could do with about 3 inches taking off the bottom.. Short leg problems.

A WEEK IN SKIATHOS

You know when you come home from holiday and you have that 'this time last week', 'this time two weeks ago' thing going on for god knows how long? Happening. Right now. And probably for the next month or so. Why do holidays have to go so quick?! You spend all these months with countdowns on your phone and then before you know it you're back on that plane sulking because your tan's peeling off (I feel like I was brown for all of 10 minutes..).

Even though I'm a bit grumpy that it's all done it doesn't take away from the fact that it was a loverrrly week. Greece was no worries - I know before we went we were a bit stressed about the situation there but everything was just as it had been the previous year and the people were equally just as lovely. I'm a big fan of Skiathos, it's not chaotic and overly commercialised, yet there's plenty to do and see. It's just right for a week of relaxing (I basically had two naps a day). These are just a few snaps from during the week - the odds & ends that don't really fit anywhere else. I've got quite a few holiday outfit posts coming so prepare yourselves for a wee bit of holiday spam!

SKINCARE LATEST: VICHY PURETÉ THERMALE

I’ve been a big lover of Vichy for a while. When my skin was at its most ridiculous it was my choice for something that wouldn’t irritate my skin and also helped to sort it out (I have oily, yet very sensitive skin – flipping brilliant). My favourites were in the Normaderm range, which I used religiously when I was having skin probs.. I haven’t tried anything new for a while so it was nice to give these new Pureté Thermale products a bash. It’s a bit of a duo for cleansing and combatting skin probs.

I gave the Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil a bash first as it's the sort of thing I love. It just gives you a much deeper cleanse than the recoils in horror facial wipe days. I feel like you’re getting the lot off with this one, especially all that icky eyeliner. One thing I would say is that the packaging is a bit of a fiddle. The pump is a nice idea but I keep spraying this oil all over the bloody place, ending up wasting half of it and nearly slipping on various puddles. Okay, a little dramatic and not a major problem but I think a pump that didn’t squirt out quite so much may be easier.

With the wash I use this for an extra deep cleanse. I’m talking getting down into all the rank blackheads and fighting them off with a big stick. My face feels really fresh once I’ve used it, but I like to slather on a lot of moisturiser after using the Vichy products as they do really target the oiliness.

I think I’ll probably go check out a few more of the products from this range. If you’ve got problem skin Vichy is well worth a try!

EYELASH LACE ROMPER

Playsuit -  c/o Miss Foxy, Bag - Paul's Boutique, Boots - Forever 21

Oh how it’s lovely to be in something suitably summery! The novelty of being able to get my legs out a bit more is yet to wear off. I’m making the most of it in this cute playsuit from Miss Foxy, a new addition to my S/S15 wardrobe. It has a bit of a nightwear vibe going on which is always a winner in my book.. I think this could easily double up as some girly PJs, but also as a floaty and feminine romper on hot days. I think it's probably the eyelash lace that does it - it's such a girlish style and I love how it finishes it all off. All in ones like this are my favourite for this time of year anyway. They still feel summery, yet there’s no chance of flashing your knicks and having a Marilyn moment as you might in a short summer dress.

With the playsuit I just went for some black accessories, keeping everything very monochrome (old habits die hard!). That's usually what I go for when I'm wearing something super girly. I just think a good pair of black boots makes you feel a little less flowers and fluffy kittens, if that makes sense?! Plus, black accessories go with just about everything. I was wearing this outfit on a really warm afternoon for a bit of a BBQ get together, but I did add my leather jacket as it got cooler to cover up a bit.

You can check out all the latest from Miss Foxy on Twitter and Instagram.. They’ve got some really nice bits in their New In section for nights out and enjoying the summer season.

WAYS TO DE-STRESS

If you're like me, life is often spent wondering if so and so thought you meant something the wrong way or maybe you could have come across better in a certain situation.. You know the thing. I'm Queen of over thinking and sometimes I find it really difficult to just switch my brain off and relax. Here are a few ways I find help out when I'm being a real stress head.
1. Colouring
I mentioned a while back that I bought a colouring book after hearing they were good for relaxing and keeping your mind occupied. I've always loved doodling and never realised that I do actually do it when I'm needing a bit of an escape. Buying a colouring book was definitely one of my best recent purchases. I love having a good scribble in an evening with a cup of green tea (I'm aware that I'm a real crazy 23 year old). It really does help me to chill out and I prefer it to constantly getting gormed out in front of the TV.
2. Treating yourself to fresh flowers
Not only is it nice to treat yourself to them, but they also look really pretty and while it's only a small thing I do think they're a mood lifter. It's maybe not a typical thing for relaxing, but I always find fresh flowers cheer me up when I' being a stress head.
3. Candles
I don't know when I got to a stage where I really enjoy buying things like candles but it happened. Candles are a fail safe for relaxing.. Especially an extra schmancy one. I love the Jo Malone ones and the Molton Brown ones are also really beautiful - plus they do some really relaxing fragrances.
4. A good relaxing spray
Speaking of Molton Brown, the fragrance above is one I'm a bit too in love with. It's designed to help sooth you to sleep and while I'm not sure it's a fail safe recipe for heading to the land of nod, I do find it's a really soft fragrance that does add to a chilled out atmosphere. I always like having nice 'smellies' about for something soothing.
So there we go. I am a bit of a stress pot, but I think we all have a few remedies for having a nervy b?! Let me know what yours are, it'd be good to add a few chill tricks to my routine.

LAZY SUMMER OUTFIT

Bralet - By Jody Shafton, Top - Primark, Trousers - River Island, Birkenstocks

God I’ve had these trousers a long time. I'm pretty sure had them when I was still at uni.. I feel like they were one of my early ‘cool’ purchases. Y’know when you actually had a bit of spending money and no longer relied on your parent’s clothing choices?! Okay, maybe they’re not that old.. But they’ve been doing the rounds in my wardrobe for a while.

I still hold onto them because I like them for something casual over summer. They’re nice and slouchy and have made a good trouser for on the beach in years previous. Here I’m just wearing them with a Primark vest top for extra comfort. It is kind of lazy, but on days off it’s nice to wear something cool and chilled. This is the sort of thing I'm going to be wearing while I'm away.. Something to cover up in when I'm having a wander.
