INSTAGRAM OUTFIT #6: CHRISTMAS DAY

Dress - Topshop, Bag - Topshop, Boots - Boohoo

I probably should have posted this straight after Christmas, but I think having a bit of time to really make the most of that pyjama/food slumber is a biggie at this time of year. Yup, I'm slightly more 'cuddly', but ever happy for having eaten my bodyweight in roast potatoes, cheese and Christmas cake. It's the most wonderfuuul time of the year!

Today I'm back to work and normality somewhat before New Year rolls in (bring on the how the fudge is it 2015 moment?!), so I thought I'd get these festive outfit snaps up before they're lost in the realms of Instagram. These pictures are more the sort of family snaps you stick on Facebook to show everyone what a fabulousss time you had.. I always like to dress up a bit at Christmas, wearing any new bits & bobs I've been treated to, before ending up in a onesie for an afternoon of cosiness with the family. The dress and bag are both presents, my Ma did good right?! The dress is the sort of thing I'll wear to death, and that bag she bought so I could venture out of black a bit.

Right, I'm off as I'm writing this before I get off to workypops. Even though I've had a few days off I feel like you need an extra bit of holiday time to get over the whole madness of Christmas! Hope you're all still enjoying the festivities!

SALES ROUND UP: LUST LIST

Cashmere Scarf - Aspinal of London, Mirror Ball Phone Case - Marc Jacobs, Nude Ankle Boots - ASOS, Turtle Neck Jumper - Whistles, Black Wedges - LK Bennet, Belt - Aspinal of London, Lipstick - 'Barbara' NARS (not in the sales, but had my first NARS lippy for Christmas and it's love), Silver Pumps - Whistles, Samsung NX3000 Camera - John Lewis

I'm calling this a lust list, mainly because although these items are from the sales, they're still on my 'I want but cannot afford list'. Or maybe the 'cannot justify list'.. Do I need another three pairs of shoes? Definitely not. These are all the schmancy bits I'm now lusting after in the sales. As I've got older I've become less bothered about grabbing a top for less than a fiver, and more obsessed with treating myself to some techy gadget or something a little extravagant. Not good for my bank balance, but I think in the long run I get more out of it. This year I'm fancying a new camera, something not quite as hefty as my DSLR but still good quality.. Any recommendations are welcomed! I'm also struggling to stop spending on something from Aspinal. It'd be my ultimate choice for a little bit of luxury.

Anyhow, how was Christmas?! Mine was lovely, forever thankful for having such thoughtful friends and family. I always get a bit sad once Christmas has whizzed by, but we've just had a whole load of snow to make everything feel extra festive again!

MERRY CHRISTMAS: FESTIVE FAVOURITES

MAC Eyeshadow Palette (This is quite an old one!), Estee Lauder Double Wear - 2C3 (For when I'm a Pale Gail over winter), Illamasqua Lipstick - Ignite, Herve Leger Perfume - Femme, MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation, Clutch - Topshop

Firstly, how the heck is it already Christmas Eve?! Ahhh.. I'm feeling like a bit of a kid, although I'm now a kid who's got one more day of work to get through before the festivities can begin. This is a bit of a spontaneous post for me - I don't really do this sort of thing often and I don't get as much time to blog 'off schedule', which can be kind of boring. I love blogging, but I miss just being able to blog about what I want when I want now I'm a dull grown up that works a lot.

So today's festive faves are basically all the things I'll be using loads today, tomorrow and over the jollies. For me it's 'll about red lippy (not even sure I suit red lips but it's bloody Christmas), makeup that's going to last and of course plenty of glitz & glamour. There's an old MAC Christmas collection eyeshadow palette providing sparkles.. I usually ask for something schmancy makeup wise for Christmas so this is one of the previous year's treats. I love waking up Christmas morning and using all these new bits & bobs that'll suddenly make you look like a VS Angel.. One can dream. For lasting makeup I've got my foundation soul mate - Estèe Lauder Double Wear, alongside the Studio Sculpt which is handy for touch ups. All time favourite perfume and a clutch that stops me being Mary Poppins. Sorted

I'll be back with another post after Christmas (I'm hoping you'll all be far too busy eating turkey sarnies like they're going out of fashion to be stuck reading my rambles). Hoping you all have a wonderrrrful day tomorrow and Father Christmas brings you plenty of treats. And pigs in blankets. And funny drunk relatives. Lots of love!

CHRISTMAS JUMPER & SKINNIES

Jumper - c/o F&F, Faux Fur Scarf - Zara, Jeans - Missguided, Boots - Boohoo

I had to get another Christmas jumper in there before the big one arrives. I've actually not bought any new ones this year, I guess it's not really a trend led kind of thing.. If it's sickeningly festive you're onto a winner. This one is actually quite sweet and tasteful, nothing too OTT. I'm making the most of it while I can.. Christmas has come around SO quick.

Extra Christmassy-ness is courtesy of that mega fluffy scarf. I keep forgetting to wear this one so I'm bringing it out of retirement. It's so nice for getting extra cosy and is still as soft as the day I bought it. Faux fur is one of the things I love about this time of year. It just makes you feel much more glam, with tat kind of Cruella de Vil vibe.

SHIRT & KNEE HIGHS

Hat - H&M, Shirt - Zara, Bra Top - c/o Urban Outfitters, Trousers - H&M, Boots - They're really way too old..

I did eventually button this shirt up properly. Bit risqué for heading to our local old lady populated Costa. I just wanted to flash a bit of that bra really. You can't even see how pretty it is, I'm going to have to work on a way of showing you without flashing the girls for the internet to see. I've just put on a basic shirt over the top, it's a bit oversized without being too huge on me. More slouchy than oversized, nothing too structured. Other than that I'm mostly monochrome. Old habits die hard.

I'm keeping this short and sweet today, mainly because I've had my nails done for the first time in forever (definitely thinking of Frozen as I'm typing this..) and I can't even type with them on. They look a million times more fabulous than usual, but my hands are now almost useless to me. Fabbydabbydoodah.

BABY BLUE DENIM

Jumper - Never Fully Dressed via Depop, Jeans - ZARA, Boots - Forever 21

I don't think this even looks like it's the middle of December.. There's a whole lot of greenery going on and the pastels sort of look adds to it I think. I may be wearing denim jeans, but I think they're pretty light and summery looking. They're really old now, those rips have gradually got bigger and I feel like they're good for days when something's too big for you. I love my skinny jeans but I don't love trying to bounce about into them after way too many pigs in blankets.

The jumper I'm wearing is that one from the little two piece I showed you. I've worn this separately loads, it's just a good basic.

SIMPLE STUFF

Jumper - c/o Warehouse, Flares - H&M, Bag - c/o La Moda, Boots - c/o Forever 21

This is the kind of outfit where there's not much going on, but that's what I like about it. Just a jumper and flares, nothing fancy or totally 'out there', but it's the kind of thing I wear a lot. That jumper you've all seen a lot recently. It'll be one of my favourites from this season I think. A nice soft knit you can't go wrong with.

The flares are the same. You've seen them a lot. I probably should have bought some proper ones (these are just lace leggings I have to wear with thick tights and two pairs of boy short pants so you don't see my bum.. glamorous) as I wear them so much. They're on my I-want-but-I'll-never-get-round-to-buying list.

Other than that there's just that little shoulder bag in there. I've been using this one quite a lot over the last few weeks. It's big enough to fit all my garbage in without lugging around something the size of a small suitcase. An oldie but a goldie from La Moda.

DETAILS: TOP KNOTS & ALL BLACK

Coat - c/o Boohoo, Bra (just seen) - c/o Urban Outfitters, Leggings - H&M, Boots - Oooold.. Possibly Dotty P back in the day?!

Bit of an iddy biddy post today. It's not really a full outfit, but there are few bits and bobs I can ramble on about.

Firstly the hair. I'm same old same old when it comes to my hair, so sticking a tiny bit of it up like this is different for me. I quite like this kind of thing especially when it's all looking a bit deshevilled (it definitely is). The only thing I would say is this.. NEVER THINK IT'S OKAY TO PUT YOUR HAIR IN AN ELASTIC BAND. I know, it was stupid on my part. But times are hard and hair bobbles are few. I have learnt my lesson.

Other details of mention. No. 7 Nude Lip Liner, smudged in with MAC Sheer Plum lippy (I've heard it's now been discontinued.. sob). My favourite combo at the minute. There's a tiny bit of bra flashing thrown in there too. It's a super pretty strappy thing that's wasted on being kept under clothing. I'm always looking for side boo outfits to wear with it. Forgive me.

THE FLUFFIEST SCARF

Scarf - c/o Boohoo, Turtle Neck - Zara, Coat - H&M, Skirt - c/o Fenchurch, Boots - Forever 21
When I wear some sort of fancy-schmancy accessory like this I always end up wearing black. I wish I was one of those people who could rock this hole clashing, mixture of prints and styles sort of thing, but I'm just not. I look like a total uncomfortable loon in anything like that. So black it is.

I guess it shows off that scarf anyway. I'm having a 'it's so fluffy I'm gonna diiiie' moment. All that fluff does make you feel pretty glamorous. I think I want to save it for wandering round Christmas markets feeling all festive. How is there less than two weeks to go?! Crazy.

WAFFLE KNIT & CULOTTES

Choker - c/o Boohoo, Jumper - c/o Boohoo, Belt - Primark, Culottes - Primark, Boots - Forever 21

Another quick one from me. My indoors pictures are always debatable, so I usually only get a few snaps. Or two, to be precise. I'll be playing with my new fancy schmancy lighting this weekend though, so we'll see how that works out. Hopefully it's going to revolutionise my world of taking blog pictures. Ha. We'll see. It does make filming a lot easier, the only thing is I'm not sure I like seeing my face so clear. In reality that bit of blur and lesser quality is a lot more forgiving..

Anyway, that's my millionth ramble about this lighting stuff. Today was just a simple day, something quite warm and comfortable for work (that belt gets looser throughout the day). I think I'm going to wear a similar version of this outfit with a Christmas jumper for something sickeningly festive. How quick is Christmas coming round by the way?! I'll definitely be taking somewhat Christmassy outfits over the next week or so so keep an eye out for that. I mean marginally festive, not me dressed as a Christmas tree.

KNIT TWO PIECE

Knit Two Piece - Never Fully Dressed via Depop, Jacket - New Look, Boots - Dr Martens

So I've been meaning to show you this for YONKS. Originally Depop treated me to a few spends to treat myself back in October (big apologies to Depop for taking like two months to decide what I wanted.. I am pretty much the most indecisive person ever) and after eventually landed on these little two pieces from Never Fully Dressed. Isn't it sweet?! I feel like I've been dressing like such a grown up recently (BIG ugh), so it's nice to go back to that kind of girly stuff I still have a thing for. Something cutesy with big boots is a bit like my old school uniform.

It's the first thing I've ever bought off Depop. Over the summer I sold loads on there.. My mum's still nagging me to get back to it seen as my clothing collection has now also taken over my brother's wardrobe. If you've not used Depop before it's definitely worth downloading.. It's an app that's actually useful and I've sung it's praises to family and friends. Especially handy for making yourself an extra bit of dosh. Plus you can find loads of other bits & bobs to buy (it's definitely easy to spend money as quick as you make it) you wouldn't find on the high street. Anyway, I'm gonna bugger off because this sounds like a bit of a plug, but it is one I've used a lot

ANKLE LENGTH COAT

Coat - c/o Boohoo, Top - Forever 21, Culottes - Primark, Boots - Forever 21

I've been wanting a coat like this for ages and I'm just as obsessed with it as I thought I'd be. I've loved that H&M one you've all seen me in way too many times dearly, but it just isn't really thick enough to save me from frostbite over winter. This one is much thicker and comes to just above my ankles. I feel like a little burrito in it. It's not wool or anything, but it's definitely a good inexpensive option for the kind of swooshy, long coat that's currently a high street fave.

Underneath the coat I'm probably not at all practical. In fact I know I'm not. It wasn't quite so nippy here, so I managed with just layering up. I'm making the most of it before we get well and truly into winter.. Not looking forward to it at all. Other than Christmas, Christmas is the bit I can cope with.

INSTAGRAM OUTFIT #5

Scarf - H&M, Jumper - c/o Warehouse, Trousers - Topshop, Boots - Forever 21

Just a quick little outfit update. This blogging & working full time lark is a little difficult, so I try get my mum to snap a few outfits when I haven't had chance to take blog pictures. I'd love to spend all day faffing about on here but I set off for work at half 7 and get home at 7 (I know, I do sound a bit like I'm wanting you to get the violins out) so it's just a case of fitting it in when I can. Oh how being a grown up is fun!

Anyhoo, I'm all grey again. With a little bit of camel thrown in there. I'm a bit obsessed with this scarf. It's huge, which means I can wrap up in it and pretend it's a big duvet (definitely no where close). I think I like it mostly because I love it with grey.. I don't even know if it's a combo that goes together but I'm a fan. The jumper is that Warehouse one I've worn bloody loads. It's just a no thought kind of thing.. a good classic.

GREY TROUSERS & TEMPORARY TATS

Jumper - Boohoo, Temporary Tat - c/o Boohoo, Trousers - Primark, Flats - Primark

Back in those Primark trousers. I do indeed love them. I've mostly been wearing them for work, mainly because they look alright with the flats for that kind of scenario.. For everyday I'm thinking I need to get some form of white shoe. Maybe trainers. I just think they look a bit too 'work' like with the flats for slobbing about round town. Anyway, that's something on my shopping list that I'm going to have to put on a back burner for a while. Christmas shopping is the current priority.

Nothing else is outside of my usual uniform (some sort of turtle neck, plenty of black), aside from the temporary tat. What do you think?! I'm sold. It's like going back to my younger days covered in ugly Power Rangers ones, but this time updated for my 23 year old self. I love the silver.. I only usually wear silver jewellery so this makes a nice alternative. I could definitely get carried away sticking these on myself. Way too fun.

JUMPER DRESS & KNEE HIGHS

Jumper - H&M, Belt - Forever 21, Boots - I wish I could remember but they're about 4 years old.. Boohoo do similar! :)
Y'know that feeling when you see something fabulous in H&M for a really good price? It's a good one. There aren't many other places I go to where I see something I love and get excited because I can actually afford it.. I love Zara and Topshop as much as the next gal, my bank balance on the other hand doesn't. One day I'm going to walk into that sort of shop and be able to buy whatever I want, but for now H&M will continue to be my favourite shopping spot.

That little ramble relates to this jumper dress. Really comfy, a nice soft knit (can't be dealing with anything scratchy) and the perfect length for wearing with knee high boots.. It's not quite as short as it looks here, in reality it's the sort that you don't worry about flashing your bum in. When I realised it was only £14.99 I was indeed a happy bun. That's good for a big chunky knit right?! It's not too trend led so I know I'll end up wearing it in winters to come.

Oh I'm guessing you'll have noticed I'm indoors.. I really couldn't face the wind/rain/mud/cold today ha. I've just ordered some fancy schmancy lighting stuff so I'm practising indoors for when that arrives.I can guarantee it'll take me forever to work it all out.. Bear with!
