CROCHET TOP

Sunglasses - Cosmo Mag Freebie, Crochet Top - Primark, Swimming Costume (just seen) - eBay, Shorts - Primark,  Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza

So, crochet is a pretty big thaaang right now don't you think? Everyone seems to be mad for it and naturally, I'm jumping on the bandwagon. The top I'm wearing is only from Primark.. I bought it just before I went away thinking it'd be the perfect beach cover up. It did actually fit the bill. Since I came back to Grotsville Sheffield I've worn it just as much as I did on my jolls - only this time it's more often than not with skinny jeans or a maxi skirt.

The shorts I've popped it with here are from Primark too - bit of a bargain outfit day all round seen as the sunglasses were a freebie with a mag. I bought 3 pairs of these for the summer.. naturally the other pairs were in black & white. They were only £4 so that's me stocked up for the rest of the sunnier months.

TRIANGL BIKINI

Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Birkenstocks - c/o Sarenza, Bikini - c/o Triangl Swimwear

Another bikini post.. nothing fancy but it is a pretty nice bikini. Now, I do feel a bit like these days there isn't a blogger in the world who hasn't got a Triangl bikini (their blogger outreach team must be on forrrrm!), but I can't help but be completely drawn into the latest blogger obsession. Not only do they look good, but that scuba-diving-esq material makes them feel extra good quality.

I will say that as much as I like Triangl bikinis, they're not the most practical. I'm one for getting totally zoned out with a book, which means I want to be all comfy and chilled in whatever I'm wearing. I'd say these are more the thing to go for when you want to impress - they look fabulous on but they can definitely be a wee bit stiff & sweaty to sit in all day. To be fair, I am a hard-core-8-hours-in-the-sun-sunbather.. I lasted about 3 hours before I swapped to some baggy old bikini bottoms.

LACE CO-ORD

Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Two Piece - c/o Ukulele, Shoes - Office

So this was my party piece of the holiday. Y'know the sort, that one you've saved for the last night, when your tan is the best it's ever going to look & you're wanting to get a bit dolled up. I had planned to wear this on my last evening out in Skiathos, mainly because I was hoping the cream would make me look less Phil Mitchell after a day on the sunbed and more bronze goddess. I'm not sure we quite achieved the goddess tanning status (to be fair, I was finding peely-parts by this stage), but I do love this two piece on - it's just such a girly outfit!

I'm not really wearing it any different to the first time I featured it on my blog, but I still think it's the sort of outfit that doesn't require much with it. This time I'm just wearing another pair of cheapo sunglasses I picked up in Skiathos town. Think I've gone from being a round sunnies to aviators kind of girl.

THE DIY BANDANA CROP TOP

Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Top - DIY, Bottoms - Peacocks

I kind of had an 'umming & ahhing' discussion with myself about doing any bikini blog posts. After thinking about just how long it takes me to find the perfect beach outfit that it might be relevant. There's not going to be all that many of these BOOTD (Bikini Outfit Of The Day.. not got the same ring to it has it?!).. I've since realised that my DSLR shows my body in way too finer detail - my phone's shoddy picture quality seems to be much more flattering. Anyway, the scenery is freakin' fabulous. I spent way too much of my time noseying at all these fancy monster yachts & wondering if there was some super celeb on one of them.

The bikini top I'm wearing is one of those I've been making & selling on Depop. I say 'I' - my mum watched me using the slowly using the sewing machine in a rather awkward fashion for all of 10 minutes before she took over. Apparently it was painful to watch - I've got the gist of the thing but I'm just not quite as speedy as her. So yeah, big thanks Ma. I kept one for myself & I'm so glad - it was my favourite beach outfit & held up really well with the sun, sand and sea!

CREPE TROUSERS & A CROP TOP

Elephant Necklace - Accessorize, Cord Necklace - Market, Top - c/o She Likes, Trousers - H&M, Bag - Matalan

That cat was the cutest thing ever. In fact, all the kitties in Skiathos were on the 'Coming Home With Me' list. My lovely mamma took these pictures whilst we had a wander around the town. She's got used to this whole 'every opportunity is a blog picture opportunity' thing now - she even asks if I want them taking when we go somewhere pretty now. She's getting rather handy with the camera these days.. Now if I could only stop doing that ridiculous Chandler Bing smile then we'd be onto a winner.

The outfit I'm wearing was actually picked based on comfort. It was one of those days where I'd somewhat overdone it on the tanning front - who knew burning the inside of your elbows could be so painful?! The top meant the bra was relegated (in fact, the bra was relegated for the whole holiday - if I can't get away with going braless in Greece at 22 when can I?!), and the trousers are the slouchiest & really soft. Having said that, you can probably also tell that they're about a foot too long. OW the joys of stumpy legs.

BLACK BEACH DRESS

Sunglasses - Skiathos Town, Necklace - Accessorize, Dress - Primark, Flip Flops - Primark

Nothing all that fancy here - just an outfit for tripping down to the beach. I mainly wanted to post this to show you the little dress, a £3 bargain (I think it was around that price anyway..) from good old Primark. It's probably designed to be worn as a vest top & I definitely wouldn't brave it as a dress in this country but it was fine for a wander down to the sea - it's amazing how on holiday you suddenly decide it's okay to walk around with a bikini VPL (maybe a VBBL - visible bikini bottoms line?) and not mind if your dress flashes your bum a bit. You do see some sights on holiday, and after seeing many a bloke walking down the strip in Speedos I came to the conclusion that I'd be fine like this.

I'm wearing a pair of sunnies that I'll be wearing a lot in these posts. They are indeed knock off Ray Bans (I'm thinking they're probably called Ray Bins - something like that). As a girl known for regularly sitting on sunglasses and snapping them in two with my rather ample bottom, I thought I'd get a few pairs like this to at least last me the holiday. Right now my lack of fortune & clumsy nature means it's not worth me spending 100squid on a pair that I'll only go & break. What can I say, I don't mind buying from the local Knock Off Nige. Shoot me.

FOREVER 21 JUMPSUIT

Bag - Matalan, Jumpsuit - Forever 21 (yeah guessing you got that anyway ha..), Sandals - Office

First of the holiday outfits. You're going to notice through this mini series that my tan varies - I don't think I'll be posting them in order so you'll probably see me going from milk bottle, to lobster, to something closer to that bronzed look I was going for. Oh and we'll probably end up on a big, peeling mess.. that's the stage we're currently at. Dear Skin, do you really have to do that?!

There's going to be quite a lot of Forever 21 stuff in my holiday posts, mainly because it's become my go-to site for online browsing. I think that's like the online window shopping equivalent - I spend far too much of my time adding things to my basket and creating a virtual wish list that I rarely get round to buying. I did a big (ish.. everything is mega cheap so it wasn't as naughty as it could have been) haul from Forever 21 before my jols, mostly going for slouchy summer trousers, little crop tops & jumpsuits. Everything I bought was lovely & got stuffed (& swiftly reorganised by Mumma) in my suitcase. I wore this black onesie on one of our first nights out.. a dreamy fit for skimming over my first day burny-bits.

SKIATHOS - HOLIDAY ROUND UP

Ow why are holidays so lovely?! It makes it all the more disappointing when you return to the much colder climates. I wanted to do a quick little round up on my week as generally, the rest of my life is quite boring & I don't get much chance to do this sort of 'lifestyle-y' thing. Plus the setting is oh so pretty - a huge improvement on the usual Sheffield scenario.

These pictures are mainly the ones that don't fit anywhere else - I'm not sure anyone on Facebook is bothered about seeing what book I'm reading nor would it fit in an outfit post, but it's still part of my week that I thought you might like a peek at. I'm horrendously curious (nosey.. curious sounds better), so I love seeing this kind of thing on other blogs - I'll be enthralled with everything from what you're eating to where you can drink good tea.

Has anyone else been to Greece or Skiathos?! It's such a lovely place. If you're off there, make sure you go see Mamma Mia at the open air cinema. One of my favourite evenings ever!

BIKINI DAY ESSENTIALS

Flip Flops - Primark, Book - Collard Manson, Phone Holder (Poundland - could spend a day in that place), Bikini - c/o Triangl, Sarong - c/o Debenhams, Sunglasses - Primark, Argan Oil, Clip - Primark, Aloe Vera Vaseline

So I'm baaack! Yep, I'm into that horrendous week where you spend half your life saying 'this time last week I was...', y'know the thing. Anyway, less of the thoughts about last week's sunny trip - it's only making my fingers itch to pop on the Thomas Cook website & book myself a second jolly holly.

Over the next week or so I've got plenty of holiday outfits to post.. Hopefully people will be interested in seeing them?! To start off all this holiday stuff I thought I'd post my bikini day essentials. Me & my ma basically spent the week on the beach - chill time, book reading & topping up our tans. Lovely. Whenever I packed my beach bag up I made sure I included all these essentials - yep, I'm a Mary Poppins sort when it comes to lugging my life about. There's all the obvious stuff (a book, sunglasses, that sort of thing), but I always added a few extras.

The sarong was a big must have - not quite brave enough to strut to the beach bar in just my bikini, plus it came in handy for covering up when I'd gone a little overboard on the tanning. Lobster springs to mind. The Argan Oil is another random bit - I kept slathering my hair in this for the day to give my hair a little TLC. My final random must have is that black phone pouch. I bought this in Poundland before my jols when I was having a 'tourist-y' moment.. it's completely naff but hugely handy if you're a complete klutz when it comes to electricals. It made sure I didn't lose the bloody thing or smash it to smithereens.. Who'da thought I'd end up talking about Poundland on here?!

RUFFLE TOP

Sunglasses - H&M, Choker - eBay, Necklace - eBay, Top - Ummm I haven't the foggiest.. we're talking 5yrs ago!, Jeans - Missguided, Boots - Forever 21

Golly I've had this top a long time. It's seen me through different boyfriends (we're only talking two & over a number of years.. I'm not confessing to being a hoochy mamma), holidays & events from school through to post university. Yup, I'm also reading this thinking 'gurrrl you need to throw this out'. The thing is, it's one of those things left in my wardrobe that I have got a bit attached to.

I guess it's one of those items in my wardrobe that's kind of sentimental - I can think back to wearing it at college & even now it's still a piece I wear regularly. I don't think it's something that looks like it's walked straight out of 2008 or whatever year I bought it.

Today I've popped it with my current 'uniform'.. When I say uniform, I mean that jeans & boots combo that I can't stop wearing. By the end of this summer my legs will be like milk bottles. Not cayooot.

WHITE SHIRT & DENIM

Sunglasses - c/o Missguided, Choker - eBay, Shirt - Charity Shop, Jeans - Topshop, Slip Ons - Topshop

I'd completely forgot that I even had these jeans & found them in the midst of my Depop clothing cull - I've downsized my wardrobe significantly but I'm still on the mission for drawers that don't resemble a jumble sale. My mum's still trying to sneak things in charity bags..

Since finding this pair I've been wearing them loads. They're just nice for my days off work. They're a size too big but I kept them as I knew that the size smaller just wouldn't be as comfy on my ample bottom - I've got plenty of 'sucky in' jeans so it's nice to have something that's just relaxed. They kind of work their way down during the day & end up extra slouchy. Unless it's a burrito day, then they're going nowhere.

PAPER BAG SHORTS

Crop Top, Belt & Shorts - Primark, Heels - Boohoo

Huge revelation - these aren't actually paper bag shorts. Shock horror! They're actually just a pair of shorts that I bought in the wrong size just because I wanted them so much. Does anyone else ever do that? 'Yeaaah I'll just wear 3 sizes too big it'll be 'oversized'.. it'll look fine' - then realise it totally doesn't look fine & you're in fact going to end up with Justin Bieber style trousers.

These slightly too big shorts are actually one half of that Primark two piece the blogging world (myself included) went a bit crazy for.. let's be honest, it was a goodie on Primark's part! After all that lusting have I worn it as much as I should have? Nope, have I heck. It's always the things that I've really wanted that seem to get worn the least - so here I am putting them to good use. I did eventually pop on the jacket for my evening out.. Ain't nobody got time for getting goosebumps on a night on shimmying these days. I'm way too old for that! Sob.

PINSTRIPE CROP TOP

Choker - eBay, Necklace - c/o Delilah Dust, Crop Top - c/o Choies, Jeans - Missguided, Boots - Forever 21

So if you watch me on YouTube (yup, still attempting the whole YouTubey thing & still finding myself the most awkward person ever..), you may have already seen this outfit. Seen as the pictures turned out kind of okay (by okay, I mean there's no random old men in the background & the lighting isn't all over the freakin' place) I thought I'd get this post up as well.

Right now, my outfits are a cross between really summery & my usual, monochrome sort of attire. In true British style, the weather never knows what the fudge it's doing.. and similarly I never know what appropriate clothing to go for. Does anyone else always end up in black jeans on days when it suddenly decides to turn red hot?! I'm obsessed with wearing this pair at the minute - I'm sure you've all seen them in a fair few of my recent posts. They're just wardrobe essentials right?!

Now, big question here. Would it be completely ridiculous to buy an identical pair just to put rips in the knees? Yep, this is such a 'first world problems' kind of question.. groundbreaking decisions to be made.

NEON KIMONO

Sunglasses - Cosmo Mag Freebie, Choker - eBay, Two Piece - fenchurch c/o Bank Fashion, Sandals - Office

Ow I so love just how summery everything is here. Does winter have to ever come back? Yep, the thought of cozy nights in with Snowflake Cookie Yankee Candles & Christmas cake does excite me a little bit, but I know I'd still much prefer an eternal summer.

Really, I think the thing is I just prefer dressing for summer. It's so much easier to just throw on a couple of items rather than layer up to the point where you're not sure if you'll be able to breath in three pairs of tights. I love outfits like this, where it's just about being cool & comfortable - I'm not sure that anything really matches but I quite like the clash. That kimono; the one I wasn't even sure if I'd wear; has become a summer essential.. it may be highlighter yellow but it actually goes with so much in my mostly monochrome wardrobe.

BLACK MIDI & COWBOY BOOTS

Necklaces - Dress - c/o Collard Manson, Boots - Forever 21

Just got my hair did.. Hench why I'm a bit 'swishy' with it. I just had a good bit chopped off it (after plenty of 'if you cut it too short I'll cry' pleas to my hairdresser..) and it feels so much better to get rid of the straggly ends. Rats' tails spring to mind.. not a good look!

Seen as this post really isn't about my trimmed locks, I'll shut up and move onto something relevant. Today's dress is a  number from Collard Manson. Now, if you follow me on Twitter you'll have probably heard me yakking on about them before - they used to have a shop in Meadowhall (my local haunt for spending more money than I've got), where I'd go on my lunch break to lust after their random little trinkets & glitzy jewellery. I've bought loads of bits & bobs from them before but I've never treated myself to any clothing.. but YAY for now having this little dress in my life. It is something I'll probably wear more in the winter, but for now I like it as a slouchy day dress.

Today's the last post before I trip off on my jollies but I will be posting as normal while I'm away - expect plenty of holiday related updates when I get back!
