CHUNKY KNIT & WHITE

Jumper - Boohoo, Glasses - c/o London Retro, Skirt - Topshop, Butterfly Ring - c/o Jana Reinhardt, Silver Rings - Pandora, Mix Ring - Vintage, Bag - Forever 21, Flatforms - c/o La Moda

I feel like I look a wee bit dishevelled here. Has anyone else just completely given up trying to tame their locks while ever the wind and rain keeps up?! I definitely have, which means for now, 'windswept' is my look.

If you hadn't noticed, today I've gone back to being all girly again. Y'know when it starts with fancying wearing pink lippy? Then the next thing you know you're revolving your outfit around it? That could just be me who clearly thinks about these things way too much.. But all the same, dressing up is about the make up too don't you think?! Having said that, my jumper is definitely more peach than pink. I'm going to say that I intended to clash..

Jewellery wise I'm wearing all my current favourites.. Mainly because these are the rings that don't turn my fingers green. As much as I love a good chunky number from Topshop, it is nice to wear jewellery that doesn't leave grubby marks!

NEON DETAILS

Hat - Boohoo, Coat - H&M, Neon Kaftan - H&M, Jumper - Zara, Trousers - Charity Shop, Boots - Boohoo

So I've gone from embracing the candy colours trend to dark and kinda' gothy. I tweeted about this the other.. I can just never decide between dressing all girly and spending my life trying (failing) to be all  mysterious in black. Does anyone else have that problem?! I quite like making sure my wardrobe has the option to go between the two.. lots of pretty pinks and florals for the more feminine days then black skinnies & boots for a slightly more 'Edward Scissor Hands' sort of look. Just gimme the hair & I could come up with the outfit.

I did brighten things up today with this neon kaftan, one I bought in the summer which didn't end up getting much wear.. it's kind of made for a tropical holiday don't you think?! It doesn't quite have the same effect in grey Sheffield. I decided just a bit of it peaking out was the way to go and ends up putting it with this all black outfit. I am looking at this post thinking am I a bit vampire meets lollipop lady? Y'know, high vis long jacket?!

OUTFIT LAYOUTS #2

Outfit One
Jumper - Zara, Trousers - c/o Loving Youth, Heels - Boohoo
Outfit Two
Jumper - As Before, Scarf - Boohoo, Skirt - Primark,  Bag - Boohoo

Should I just have called this two ways with the wardrobe basic that I wear too much? Maybe I'm now the turtle neck girl. Please tell me that I'm not the only one who's worn them loads this winter?! Every season I seem to end up with something I wear to death, last A/W it was beanies, this year I'm stuck in roll neck jumpers. At least it's something my Nanna will approve of.. and maybe Ron Burgundy.

I'm a bit of a Boohoo accessories fiend at the minute don't you think?! I'm a sucker for finding a bargain online. It's like ordering a present to you, from you. I'm forever just filling my basket up and then sitting there thinking 'shall I?'.. I usually cave at some point and order myself a little treat. Outfit One includes my most worn strappy sandals and Outfit Two features the best scarf/blanket I have ever owned. I say blanket because it's huge! Dare I say I've even popped it over my legs (little old lady in front of the fire style) when I've got in my car and thought frost bite was inevitable. Ha. Snuggle factor = 10 out of 10.

BERET & QUILTED

Beret - Boohoo, Faux Fur Collar - Zara, Coat - H&M, Top - Primark, Skirt - Topshop, Boots - Boohoo

Now, I will just put the little disclaimer out there that I decided to take blog pictures just after I'd put my fake tan on.. hence the slightly 'varnished' look. Ha. I didn't think it'd show up that much on camera but clearly, it does. Post rinse I can assure you that I'm no longer mahogany.

Aside from the unusual colour I'm sporting, I really like what I'm wearing today. I think I've finally found the way to brighten up my wardrobe.. marshmallow colours. I hope the whole pastel trend lasts a good while.. I can't wait to wear the summer version of this outfit (I will admit I did have to add tights on deciding that I couldn't cope with plucked chicken esq legs)!

The beret is something I've been wanting to purchase for a while.. even though I'm still not sure if it looks right on my head! I just haven't got quite the same finesse in wearing one as some chic Parisian girl. Boo. I'm going to keep working on finding the right way to wear it so expect to see it in posts to come.

Oooh quickly on a final note.. the top is new from Primark & was only £6, what a little steal eh?!

PINK CHECKS & CHUNKY FLATFORMS

Coat - Boohoo, Dress - c/o Missguided, Shoes - c/o La Moda

Don't shout at me, I'm in that coat again. Who'd have thought I'd get so much wear out of a pink coat?! I really didn't, but I've worn it loads. It's one of my top buys from this season, I'm just hoping the pastel coat trend lasts a good while so I can make the most of it.. I'm fancying a baby blue one next year.

Let's be honest though, this coat was a dreamy little match for this dress. They're like baby pink little besties. Ha oh dear, I'll stop now. Anyway, I've been having a bit of a pastels love affair recently. It's getting me away from black and makes me feel mega girly, which I admittedly love. There's just something about going a bit 'Barbie' that I can't help but like!

Shoes wise, I needed some heels & these arrived just in time. Actually, am I more Baby Spice than Barbie?! They're chunky like 90s buffalo boots, but not too clumpy, y'know? A bit of extra height that doesn't mean you may potentially break your neck.. yes to that.

BOOHOO #OWNIT ALL BLACK OUTFIT

Hat, Kimono, Drop Waist Dress, Boots - Boohoo

I know a few weeks have passed, but I still wanted to show you this outfit from the Boohoo #OWNIT shoot. I can't waste the chance to post pictures where there isn't some rogue cat in the background or a major case of bad lighting can I?!

Of course when I get the opportunity to play dress up for the day, I still end up throwing an all black outfit in there. Creature of habit right?! This was my second way of wearing the 'drop waist' look.. one of Boohoo's new shapes for this season. I never actually thought I'd go for a drop waist, but it's actually more versatile than I thought. I popped this kimono over it and everything went quite unintentionally 'festival appropriate' .. I mean, I'm not even planning on going to a festival anytime soon!

Right, I'm going to keep today's post short and sweet as currently, I'm looking much less 'put together' than I do in these pictures. Today involves me, using my day off to stalk LFW, eat copious amounts of chocolate & sit watching The Great British Sewing Bee (far too excited). Please tell me I'm not the only person that does this. Ha.

NEW HAIR

Now, I know for some of you, my hair change is merely a little alteration. I've not lopped it or off or dyed it lime green, but for me, this is a biggie. Anyone who knows me will have always known me with the same hair.. blonde & long. Mainly because that's all I've ever had. I'm not one of those people that gets bored with their hair.. I just know how I like it and to be honest, change is way too frightening a prospect!

I did finally decide to have a little update.. all be it after months of 'umming' & 'ahhing'. I was getting so sick of having to get my roots done (corn growing on tarmac springs to mind) and decided I wanted something more natural. A bit more grown up, you know? I asked my hairdresser to come up with some sort of grown out blonde that wasn't going to make people go 'sweet baby Jesus you've changed your hair'. Thankfully, my hairdresser knows what I'm like & subsequently knows not to go for something too drastic.. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I don't feel like I'm not a blondie anymore, yet I don't have those horrible looking roots. Yay.

VALENTINE'S DAY DETAILS

Glasses - London Retro c/o My Optique, Coat - H&M, Top - c/o Pretty Little Thing, Skirt - c/o Lashes of London, Shoes - Boohoo

Please forgive me, I got a bit carried away with Valentine's Day posing.. I'm ever increasing on the 'naff' scale. Ha.

I just wanted to put up a little post with my outfit details for the loved up day, I'd say I've gone quite glam for me?! Sparkles always make you feel like a little bit sassy (yep, totally referencing Honey Boo Boo here), and this skirt certainly has plenty of glitz. It's baby pink as well! My new favourite.. although someone did say to me 'you only like baby pink because it goes with black'. Ha, that is quite possibly true.

The glasses I'm wearing are a pair from London Retro.. I feel mega fancy every time I wear them! I've had them for quite a while now & they are a now a necessity when I spend half my life tapping away on here.. plus I think they can help outfits feel a lot more 'put together'. I dunno, there's just something smart about glasses don't you think?!

Have you all got lovely things planned for this evening?! I hope so! I love seeing what everyone's up to on Instagram, it's nice to see that people really do make the effort with their loved ones. Cute overload but I think it's so sweet!

MONOCHROME & PINK OOTN

Coat - Boohoo, Top - New Look, Skirt - Republic, Bag - H&M, Shoes - Boohoo

My neighbours are finding this whole 'Lydia taking pictures of herself on her drive' phase highly amusing. Let's just say curtains were a'twitching..

I'm going to leave you all sick of the sight of this coat. I've been wearing it so much though.. who'd have thought baby pink would go with so much?! I know what you're thinking.. when your wardrobe basically consists of black & white then it probably is easy to pair things up with pink. Ha. Monochrome and any candy shade is always pretty in my book.. in fact, I may become a bit of a colour convert with all the ice scream hues I'm lusting after.

I have classed this as my 'Valentine's Day Outfit'. Now, I'm quite happy to be a big singleton at the minute, but that doesn't mean I won't get be getting dolled up. Who needs an R Patz lookalike to whisk them off their feet?!*

*Erm me. Ha.

BABY PINK SEQUINS

Sunglasses - Primark, Jacket - Topshop, Tee - Urban Outfitters, Skirt - c/o Lashes of London, Boots - c/o La Moda

First thing to mention.. THE ROUND SUNNIES ARE BACK! Yippeee. I think this year will be my third summer wearing them.. yep, I'm probably continuing to sport a trend that is no longer a trend, but they're my favourites. I am wanting to update to a 'cat eye' pair though.. the Topshop ones (link) were just what I wanted but apparently my head is a little too round for them. Ha, BOO!

Right, on with the rest of the outfit. I think I took the most glitzy, 'night out' appropriate piece & still managed to end up all casual. This skirt would be a sparkly dream boat for a night out, don't you think? One day, when I actually have reason to get glammed up, I will be sporting it in all its glory.. think fake eyelashes, strappy heels & a fancy clutch. For now, it's with a slouchy tee, battered leather jacket & chunky boots. I finally found my padlock necklace (anyone else think their room has a black hole in it?!) and decided that meant it needed to be added in. Forever a lover of everything silver & chunky.

Now, I'm going to leave you with the picture below. Big thanks to my kitty-bobs for always making editing a joy. Ha! I swear he's copying me..

TARTAN SCARF & LACE FLARES

Jumper - Zara, Scarf - Boohoo, Lace Flares - H&M, Boots - Boohoo, Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington

I'm back to looking hella' angry on blog pictures. BOO. I'm going to blame it on the sun.. I'm forever squinting away during the winter!

It was actually quite warm today, hence why I've not bothered with a coat. I did pop on a grey boyfriend jacket when I went out, but while I was taking pictures I risked it. I get completely bored of having to layer up to a crazy extreme (I have been known to go out in three pairs of tights.. yep, I think my feet started to go blue). Turtle necks always make you fee like you're wrapped up, and we all know I'm a huge fan of them. This one is a newbie to my collection.. I did indeed fall victim to the Zara sale. Did anyone else find any bargains?!

I will quickly mention that scarf. It's quickly becoming my favourite thing. The lovely guys at Boohoo let me take this home after the #OWNIT shoot & I was so happy. It's huge for starters, more like a blanket than a scarf! If I need to up the snuggly factor, this goes round my neck.

JANUARY FAVOURITES

Vita Liberata Tan, Ring - Vintage, Bracelet - Present (Mamma is a cutieee), Soleil Tan De Chanel, Choker - eBay, Advanced Night Repair, Double Wear Foundation & Modern Muse Eau De Parfum - Estêe Lauder

I know this post isn't the norm for me. For one, I'm not stood looking like a big posey mcposerson, and two I'm a creature of habit and generally, my favourites don't alter much. I’m sure that will be clear from this post, yep, we've all seen that fedora and choker a fair few times haven't we?! The bracelet I wear almost everyday but I'm not sure you'll have seen how sweet it is.. my little Mumma is a babe.

Aside from the accessories that I spend half my life in, I added in a few beauty bits & bobs. I know I look like I'm Estêe Lauder's most keen sponsor, but I just had to include all three. Gift with purchase deals have caused this, I try these mega amazing products out and then I need to go buy them! The raved about Double Wear is much loved by myself, managing to cover up a multitude of sins. On my wish list next is the full sized Advanced Night Repair.. it makes my skin feel so much better!

The other beauty product I will mention is the Vita Liberata tan. I succumbed to the allure of bronzed skin and decided to give this a bash. It is fab. I'd never actually used a tan that I thought was worth it, but this goes on easily (I'm a totally useless when it comes to slathering this stuff on) & gradually fades instead of leaving those yucky patchy bits.. nobody wants grubby looking elbows do they?!

BURBERRY PRINT TROUSERS

Coat - H&M, Top - Topshop, Trousers - c/o Loving Youth, Heart Band Ring - Pandora, Butterfly Ring - c/o Jana Reinhardt, 90s Bracelet - eBay

Who'da thought that Burberry would eventually shed some of its 'chav' connotations? Well, I hope it has, or I'm stood here looking like a total Vicky Pollard. I know these trousers aren't going to be for everyone, but I definitely love them. They're mega high waisted & could they possibly scream 'Cher' from Clueless any louder?! I think not. And yep, I know I'm obsessed with that girl!

I just went quite simple today, popping on my go-to crop top and that coat that I need to take off. It's not the most practical or warmest (*ahem* spot the goosebumps..), but it makes me feel all swishy and glam, & I didn't even realise swishy and glam was a feeling. You know what I mean right?! Ha.

Jewellery wise everything was quite simple too. I'm forever in that little 90s bracelet.. I used to wear them when I was about 8, and now I'm back to loving them. Some things never change eh?! If anyone's not sure what to search for on eBay just try '90s choker' or 'tattoo choker/bracelet'.. hope that helps!

BOWLER HAT & BUTTON UP DRESS

Coat - H&M, Dress - c/o, Sugarhill Boutique, Hat - H&M, Boots - Boohoo

I'm still playing with my new lens, which means I'm back out in the garden freezing my bits off. It was windy, raining and miserably cold.. to the point where my fingers started going numb & I just about lost the ability to use the remote. Ha. Is everyone else completely sick of winter now? As soon as Christmas is over I'm just like 'can it be summer yet?'. Ohhh to be able to banish the tights for another season!

Today's dress was a good opportunity to bring the bowler hat out of retirement. Have you seen the little magician's hat print?! Ah so sweet. I haven't been wearing a bowler hat much recently, I dare say that it's been replaced by my fedora. I still think this hat is a cutie though, it's not too much of a 'hat statement' y'know? Not too big & bold, just something to prop over your head on bad hair days.
