cream jacket & primark trousers

Cream Jacket - H&M, Top - Topshop, Trousers - Primark, Boots - Topshop, Phone Case - c/o Casetagram
Lippy - MAC Sheer Plum

Apparently, putting your arms in the sleeves of a jacket is a thing of the past. Ha. I am only joking, but clearly I’ve been sucked into the trend where coats are now capes. I don’t mind a cape though, they make you feel kind of fancy.. In a Harry Potter sort of way.

Today’s trousers are a pair I acquired off my mamma after she fell victim to the classic Primark error.. Wrong size on the hanger. I’ve been wearing trousers quite a lot recently, mainly because I love these high waisted, comfy styles that are all over right now. They’re perfectly casual, but can be worn with heels too. I know my strappy black sandals are going to make an outing with these babes.

The phone case I’m flashing is one I’ve been meaning to show you all for a while. I know it’s not really a ‘fashion’ item, but who doesn’t love stuff that’s personalised?! As my blog is my little bubba, I had to fit it in there. There’s also at least 4 pictures of my fur babies on there. Mad. Cat. Lady.

Not long left now, so if you'd like to nominate me to be Cosmo's 'Best New Fashion Blog' then I'd be over the blimmin' moon!

neon body & mom jeans

Sunglasses - Primark, Body - c/o Dirty Pretty Things, Belt - Primark, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens, Filofax - c/o Filofax

I took these pictures a week or so ago, not long after my organisational skills were significantly improved by acquiring a Filofax. When I put this bodysuit on, I thought the colour match was perfect & had to be appreciated. The top is actually lingerie (cheeekaaay) but it is way too pretty to be completely covered up. I feel like lingerie can be wasted tucked up under our usual layers.. That is unless you have your very own Mr Darcy sat at home. Ha.

The MOM jeans I’m wearing have been my best friend for summer’s cooler days. I’m not really a jeans girl.. I always find them uncomfortable, mainly because I’m not a fan of my ass being strapped into stuff that doesn’t allow for an extra piece of cake. These light wash beauties have converted me. I even wear them on the ‘if it involves wearing a bra, I’m not moving’ days. Ha.. please tell me that’s not just me?!

A/W lust list

1. Black Bralet - New Look (£9.99), 2. Spiked Fedora - Missguided (£18.99), 3. White Coat - River Island (£85), 4. Snake Print Skirt - Missguided (£19.99), 5. Black Biker Dress - New Look (£39.99), 6. Leather Ankle Boots - New Look (£59.99), 7. Polo Neck - H&M (£19.99), 8. Longline Biker Jacket - River Island (£75), 9. Camo Gloves - ASOS (£10), 10. Quilted Belt - H&M (£12.99), 11. Faux Fur Hat - ASOS (£26.03), 12. Faux Fur Waistcoat - H&M (£24.99), 13. Mary Jane Platforms - ASOS (£85), 14. Strappy Swing Dress - Missguided (£19.99)

I’m probably a bit early with a A/W lust list, it is only August after all. If you’re like me & you’re not a massive fan of the colder season, then I’m sure you’ll also feel that the thought of a new winter wardrobe is about the only thing that’ll make it slightly more bearable. Hello woolly hats, faux fur & cosy socks! Eeek now that is exciting isn’t it?!

Naturally, my lust list is full of black clothing & accessories. It’s just my go-to for the next half of the year. Black is simple, it requires minimum effort and it always seems to look smart. I feel like I can find a black outfit I’m happy with in 5 minutes, but going for colour takes me a while longer. I’m hoping this year I’ll be mixing it up with the white items I’ve acquired since being majorly taken in by the white trend. Monochrome come at me. Now would that white coat not be the perfect addition?!

another charity shop outfit

Sunglasses - H&M, Shirt - Charity Shop, Dress - Charity Shop, Boots - Topshop, Backpack - c/o La Moda

I think even if I ended up with a dream, jet setting, mega bucks job I would still like the odd trip round a charity shop. Yep, they can be ugly old places that smell a little fusty, but they are also wardrobes. All be it ones that need refining, but I could definitely make a reasonable wardrobe from charity shop purchases. How cool would it be to do an article where the challenge was to get a complete wardrobe from the local British Heart Foundation?! A little bit of customisation here and there & I reckon it'd be sorted.

I'm wearing my current favourite black accessories combo here. My La Moda back pack & those Topshop cut out booties that don't seem to leave my feet. They're the things I go for when I'm wearing something that black accessories will look best with.. & we all need a staple black bag right?!

DIY shirt skirt & mint

Jumper - H&M, Sunglasses - Primark, Bag - c/o La Moda, Shirt Skirt - Primark, Sandals - Dorothy Perkins
Lippy - MAC Honey Love

As the summer heat is dwindling, I’m starting to bring out all my light knitwear. Y’know, something not too heavy that’s going to save you from looking like a plucked chicken. I will definitely be fitting in a few more BBQ’s (rain or shine!), but there’s no way I’m going to be freezing my bits off braving it in a crop top. This loose fitted mint jumper is one that has been dearly loved. It’s surprising how much mint goes with! I’ve even worn it with a pastel pink floral dress.. I promise it wasn’t quite as tragic as it sounds!

My skirt is another ‘DIY’ jobby. There are inverted commas as I am in no way suggesting that tying a shirt around your waist is the customisation of the century. However, it does give my old Primark shirt a new lease of life! It's always nice to put a neglected piece in your wardrobe to use.. even if it's not in the traditional way.

Voting ends really soon so if you would like to vote for me to win Cosmo's 'Best New Fashion Blog' then I'd be the happiest girl in the world! Much love. <3

basketball jersey vest dress & chunky boots

Hat - H&M, Vest - c/o Educate Elevate, Boots - Aggy X Dr. Martens
Lippy - MAC Sheer Plum

Oh Lordy, is it coming up to beanie season once again?! I wouldn’t have put neon yellow & aubergine together but I quite like it! As much as I love beanies, I wish A/W wasn’t coming quite so quickly upon us. If it was chilly enough that we all got to wear cute woolly scarves & chunky beanies then I’d be fine with that, but it’s the doubling up on pairs of tights & walking out looking like the Michelin man that kills me. Ah well, I guess the sunshine has to go at some point!

While it is warm enough to get my pins out, I thought I’d wear this perforated vest/dress. One of the upsides to having stumpy legs is that a lot of tops fall quite long on me.. Don’t worry though, I’ve got a pair of shorts on to save myself from flashing my undies/scaring small children.

The last picture is me failing to work out how Cara Delevingne pulls off these quirky cute pictures. How does she pull all these silly faces and still look so good?! I, on the other hand look like a potato. On acid. BOO. This was the best out of a bad bunch.. Trust me, there was some good 'uns. Outtakes post is being added to.

cut out dress & snap back

Snap Back - c/ Daisy Street, Sunglasses - Primark, Dress - c/o Lashes of London, Matching Bracelets - H&M, Shoes - Boohoo

I was playing with my new cheapo remote for my camera (good old eBay) when I took these pictures. I’m not sure it’s a complete success, but we’ll keep trying eh?! When someone else takes my picture I tend to look a little awkward. However, the quality is better.. #bloggerproblems. Ha.

I got dolled up today, even though I’ve ended up dressing the dress down. I think it’s pretty easy to find a decent outfit for a night out.. grab the heels & a pretty dress and you’re good to go. It’s always the nights when you’re not sure how fancy the occasion is that are the problem. The times I’ve texted round asking ‘is it a heels kind of thing?!’. The snap back just makes everything a little less fancy. I always think hats are good for dressing something down, you can easily shove them in your bag if you find out it’s a ‘dressy’ occasion.

Has everyone had a loverrrly weekend? I've had a quiet one after a busy week and will be rounding it all off with Honey Boo Boo & lots of naughty treats. Please tell me you're all HBB fans right?! I shouldn't love her but I definitely do.

Filofax Blogger Challenge & my 90s outfit!

Jacket - Zara, Dress - Zara, Shirt - Charity Shop, Heels - Boohoo, Filofax - c/o Filofax
Lippy - Revlon Lip Butter (Rasberry Pie)

Now, I did think that incorporating a Filofax into a fashion blog might just be a stretch too far. It’s not just a boring old diary though, is it? For me it’s like a whole little fashion statement, perfect for those of us who are a little obsessed with organisation.

As my student bubble has officially popped and I am now in the big wide world of searching for the dream job (lol.. work in progress!), I was mega eager to get my hands on one of these anyway. It makes me feel like such a grown-up..  Hopefully it will soon be filled with important meetings and exciting events!

The styling was based around a favourite decade.. do we even need to consider what decade I went for?! 90s of course. I knew straight away I’d have to go for a two piece in homage to my apparent lookalike Cher from Clueless. She’s much more of a babe than me but I don’t mind emulating her wardrobe!

If you would like to vote for me, you can 'like' one of my Faceyb pictures (there's quite a few) here. There's lots of mega stylish bloggers looking like little beauts, so it's definitely worth a peek.

neon see through clutch outfit

Top - Zara, Trousers - Pretty Little Thing, Clutch - c/o La Moda, Boots - Topshop

Bit of a mis match outfit today. I wanted something comfy for lunch out (gotta make room for the food baby) so I kind of just threw on the first few things I found. Sometimes I spend way too long debating what to wear and usually, I like the outfits that ive spent the least time on the most. Typical!

I wanted to find the perfect monochrome outfit to go with my new neon clutch. Is it not a little piece of dreamy see through goodness?! I love the clear plastic accessories that are infiltrating the high street right now. When it comes to bags, it means that I only include the cute necessities. For me that's my phone, sunnies, lippy and my (empty..sob) purse.

I get a lot of questions about my hair so I've included one of my recent favourites today. I've tried just about every hair oil, serum and leave in conditioner available. It's rare that I actually think 'yeah, I'd buy that'. The Moroccan Oil is kind of expensive, but you only need a little blob & it does increase the lush factor of ones hair by a significant amount. Now can I be Rapunzel yet?!

cami & crochet shorts

Cami - H&M, Shorts - H&M, Boots - Topshop, Backpack - c/o La Moda

I managed to get a few snaps of my outfit when I went for a cutesy walk the other day. A lot of the time I'm wearing something pretty simple like this, paired with my favourite accessories. The cut out boots are my go-to shoes at the minute. I've always been more of a boots girl, but Docs and summer heat are a no go. I can't cope with melting tootsies. These are going to see me through the last of the summer (sob.. Does it ever have to end?!) and will be perfect with some cute wooly socks during winter.

My backpack is new from the place of bargain dream boat bags, La Moda. I'm loving this one because I can throw all my junk in it (my bags are always very 'Mary Poppins' and not have to look like I'm off with enough gear to hike up Mount Everest.

How has everybody's Monday been? I'm finishing mine with chocolate brownies.. That makes the start of the working week almost bearable doesn't it?!

NY Outfit 1: Baseball Tee

Top - H&M, Clear Clutch - New Look, Sandals - Primark
Nails - Essie (Blanc)

Yep, I know what you’re thinking. ‘Lydia, you went all this way to New York & you’ve took pictures sat in your hotel room’. Ha. The thing is, when you’re wandering round NY the last thing on your mind is posing.. There’s just way too much to look at! The last collage includes some of what I got up to in this outfit. It kind of looks like the postcard I would have sent you all if I could have. Ha.

The top/dress I'm wearing proved to be quite a hit with the Americans. Most of them found it rather amusing to ask me 'do you play baseball?'. Evidently, it is pretty obvious that I don't look like the sort that plays baseball. My hand/eye coordination is basically non existent.. However, my head is apparently a magnet for footballs/rounders balls/tennis balls. You name it, it's nearly knocked me out.

Irrelevant stories are kind of my trademark right?!
